Construction Work: Canada Games 2025 Track and Field Facility

Temporary construction fencing has been installed adjacent to the Aquarena and Prince of Wales Collegiate and construction has begun on the new Track and Field and Centre of Excellence Facility for the 2025 Canada Games. Heavy equipment will be operating in the area between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Monday to Friday, with some longer evenings expected in the summer months.

Most of the project work will be focused on site with some heavy equipment travelling to and from the area, with minimal disruption to traffic. The contractor has allocated three different access points to carry out construction for the new amenities on Paton Street, Westerland Road and Lambe’s Lane.

A traffic control plan will be used during construction to help facilitate getting larger pieces of equipment to and from the sites in a safe manner.

The city apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this construction project. To report issues or concerns Access St. John’s can be reached by calling 311 or 754-CITY (2489), by email access@stjohns.ca or using the app.
