As the Provincial fire ban has now been lifted, the St. John’s Regional Fire Department informs all residents that the fire ban covering the Region including the City of St. John’s, City of Mount Pearl, and Town of Paradise has been lifted with immediate effect. Open fires are now allowed. Please contact your local municipality to verify if a burning permit is required from our Department.

Both consumer and display fireworks are now permitted. Please remember to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and take necessary precautions when using fireworks.

Residents are reminded of the City's Fireworks By-Law, which states that family fireworks are only allowed on New Year’s Eve and Canada Day from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. the following day.
