Last Call - Funding Available for Heritage Properties
Last call! The City of St. John’s is accepting applications for the Heritage Financial Incentives Program until Monday, June 1, 2026.
The City’s Heritage Financial Incentives Program aims to conserve built heritage resources by assisting property owners with grant funding. Funding is available to owners of residential or commercial properties located within a Heritage Area, as well as to owners of designated Heritage Buildings.
There are three grant types available:
- Designated Heritage Building Grant (NEW): If you own a designated Heritage Building, then you are eligible for up to 25 per cent of the material and labour costs to a maximum of $10,000 for the preservation, restoration and/or replacement of façade elements.
- Heritage Conservation Grant: Up to 25 per cent of the material and labour costs to a maximum of $7,000 for the preservation, restoration and/or replacement of façade elements.
- Heritage Maintenance Grant: Up to 25 per cent of the material and labour costs to a maximum of $1,500 for maintenance and repair work.
