The City of St. John’s advises the public that, effective immediately, the pool at the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre is closed. The closure is due to a plumbing malfunction. Facilities staff are working to remedy the situation as quickly as possible; the reopening date will be announced when it is known.

This closure will impact events scheduled this weekend and will also delay the start of swimming lessons. Recreation staff are working to identify possible alternatives for impacted lessons and sessions and will be in touch with registered participants directly.

Update as of January 20, 2023

Work continues to address the infrastructure issues at the pool. It will remain closed most likely until the end of the month. Individuals registered for sessions or classes and those with rentals are being contacted directly by Recreation staff.
