National Truth and Reconciliation Day
The City will observe National Truth and Reconciliation Day on September 30 to honour survivors, their families and Indigenous communities, and to raise awareness about the legacy of residential schools in Canada. The City will also raise an orange flag on Friday, September 29 and City Hall will be lit orange over the weekend.
Please note the following:
- Most City offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, October 2.
- All recreation facilities and community centres will be closed on Saturday, September 30 and will be open on Monday, October 2.
- Garbage and recycling will be collected on Monday.
- The Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility is open during regular hours of operation on Saturday, September 30 and Monday, October 2.
- All City parking by-laws are still in effect, including paid parking regulations on Monday, October 2.
- The Visitor Information Centre at 348 Water Street will be closed from Saturday to Monday, September 30 to October 2, and will reopen on Tuesday, October 3 at 9 a.m. for regular business hours.
