The 2023 Downtown Christmas Parade, organized by Downtown St. John's, is scheduled to take place on Sunday, December 3 beginning at noon.

FREE Metrobus Santa Shuttle

Free wheelchair accessible Park and Ride service is available for the Downtown St. John’s Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 3.

Service is available on a load and go basis starting at 10:00 a.m. from Confederation Building and from Newfoundland Labrador Housing Building off of Captain Whelan Drive.

Buses from Confederation Building will provide service to and from Bannerman Road; buses from NL Housing Building will provide service to and from Mary Brown’s Centre.

Please be aware:

• the last bus leaving from Confederation Building heading to the parade will leave at NOON
• the last bus leaving from NL Housing heading to the parade will leave at 12:30 p.m.

Return shuttles will be available at the drop-off locations (Bannerman Road & Mary Brown’s Centre) immediately following the parade.

Accessible Transit

GoBus drop off and pick up location is on George Street West next to Jungle Jim’s. GoBus users must reserve their ride. GoBus users can book a ride by calling 368-8887, TTY 368-1620, email gobus@mvtcanada.com or text 765-5847.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking permit holders can avail of parking located along George Street West, accessed via Queen Street. There will also be accessible parking along New Gower Street.

Accessible Viewing Area

An accessible viewing area is located at 354 Water Street on a first come, first served basis.

Road Closures & No Parking

Road closures, parking restrictions and tow away/impounding will be in effect Sunday, December 3 from 8 a.m. to Noon.

• Plymouth Road - both sides
• Duckworth Street - both sides Plymouth Road to Prescott Street
• Prescott Street - both sides Duckworth Street to Water Street
• Water Street - both sides Prescott Street to Hamilton Avenue
• Circular Road - north side Monkstown Road to King's Bridge Road/Empire Avenue
• Bannerman Road - west side

• Road Closures may come into effect earlier if necessary.

• Duckworth Street - Church Hill to Prescott Street - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
