Partial Closure of Bowring Park for Japanese Beetle Treatment – July 6, 2026

The City of St. John’s wishes to advise residents that a portion of Bowring Park will be closed on Monday, July 6, 2026, to facilitate Japanese Beetle treatment (weather dependent).

The closure will be in effect from the main west gate entrance on Park Road to the Jamie Morry Sports Field. Barricades and signage will indicate closed areas.

The section of the park from the duck pond entrance on Waterford Bridge Road to the playground will remain open and accessible during the treatment. The splash pad, pool, playground, and all recreational programming will continue to operate as usual.

The closed areas of the park will reopen for regular use on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

These treatments are part of the province’s ongoing eradication program to help prevent the spread of this invasive pest.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as this work is completed.
