Public Open House: Recycling Facility
Do you know what happens to your recycling after you place it at the curb? In this region, recycling is collected, sorted and bundled for new markets in the Materials Recovery (recycling) Facility at the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility.
Come see what happens to your curbside recycling and meet the staff that sort it:
Recycling Facility Open House
11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sunday, October 22
340 East White Hills Road
October is Circular Economy Month and Waste Reduction Week is October 16 to 22. We are celebrating with our partners in waste reduction at the open house, including:
- Scotia Recycling Limited
- Product Care (paint reuse and recycling)
- Home Again Furniture Bank
- Clean St. John’s
- Habitat for Humanity ReStore
- Multi-Materials Stewardship Board (MMSB)
Most of the recycling we collect at the curb is sold and manufactured into new products right here in Canada by Canadian companies.
