Seniors Party in the Park Scheduled for July 8

The City of St. John’s is hosting its annual Party in the Park on Wednesday, July 8, from 1 to 4 p.m. on the lawn by the Bowring Park Bungalow. Party in the Park is a free event for seniors featuring local entertainment, light refreshments, giveaways and an opportunity to connect with friends and neighbours. 

This year’s entertainment lineup includes Paddy Burke, Elaine Dunphy, Karla Pilgrim and Jackie Sullivan, as well as youth performer Alex Taylor.  

Transportation

The City offers a bus service with pick-up locations at selected City recreation facilities and seniors complexes throughout St. John’s. Advanced registration is required for the bus service and costs $6 per person. Participants can register for the bus service:

  • In person: H.G.R. Mews Community Centre, 60 Blackler Avenue or Paul Reynolds Community Centre, 35 Carrick Drive

Registration to attend the event is not required.

Accessibility and Parking

A limited number of accessible parking spaces are available at the Bowring Park Bungalow on a first come, first served basis. Vehicles that have accessible permits may enter the park to drop off event attendees. Access is available through the entrance near the large duck pond.

Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, Party in the Park will be postponed to Thursday, July 9. Should weather conditions not be suitable on July 9, the event will be moved indoors at the Shriners Club, 530 Topsail Road. Parking lot is located off of Ferryland Street.
