After School Program

The After School Program offers children a fun and safe place to be active. Our programs are based on the High Five philosophy and Healthy Child Development is fostered through the following principles: Participation, Play, Mastery, Friends, A Caring Adult and FUNdamental Movements. Children experience a wide range of opportunities through community involvement, cooperative and sport-based games, creative learning activities and building and exploration.

Shea Heights Community Centre: Monday to Friday, Sept 5 to June 19 from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Age: 5-12

Cost: $215.00 per month (part time spaces also available at a reduced cost)

Drop In Outdoor Ball Hockey

Sign up and pick up a game of Ball Hockey. Players of all skill levels are welcomed! Players must bring hockey helmet and gloves. Sticks are available on site. Pads are recommended. This program is weather dependent.

Kilbride Community Centre: Thursdays, Sept 12 to Oct 17 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Age: 12-16

Preschool

Active Preschool is a part time preschool program that focuses on socialization, early educational concepts, physical literacy with a focus on fundamentals, basic movement and skills taught through fun activities. Staff will build on children's interests and abilities and offer age- appropriate activities and learning centres.

Paul Reynold’s Community Centre: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, Sept 16 to Dec 6 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Wilderness Survival – Family

Learn basic skills to help you survive if lost in the woods. Topics include shelter building, fire building and signaling. All equipment provided. Spaces are limited.

Rotary Chalet: Sunday, Sept 22 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Age: 5+

Cost: $54.00

Home Alone Safety Course

A safety and life skills program for children (Grade 4 to 6) to develop independence to be un-supervised for short periods of time. Topics include: online safety, fire safety, street smarts, emergency response, healthy eating and a home readiness plan. Bring a lunch. Cost: $55.

Trisport- Explore

Three different sports will be played for 30 mins each.
