Traffic Advisory: 2025 St. John’s Pride Parade - Sunday, July 20

The parade will begin on New Gower Street in front of City Hall, and travel East on Duckworth Street, before turning up Ordinance Street, onto Military Road, and ending in Bannerman Park.

The parade will begin at noon, while closures will begin at 7 a.m. to facilitate logistics and parade set up. Traffic control persons will be along the parade routes to complete the closure, while motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes.

To facilitate the safe passage of the parade and pedestrians, the following road closures, and No Parking – Tow Away restrictions will be in place:

Road Closures

  • New Gower Street Eastbound (from Waldegrave Street to Duckworth Street) – 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • New Gower Street West Bound (from Long’s Hill to Waldegrave Street) - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Duckworth Street (Duckworth to Church Hill) - 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Duckworth Street (Church Hill to Ordinance Street) - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Ordinance Street - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Military Road (from Cavendish Square to Bannerman Road) - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Bannerman Road (from Military Road to the Park Entrance) - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

No Parking/Designated Tow Away Zones

Please note that vehicles parked at the below locations between 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. may be ticketed and/or towed.

  • New Gower Street Eastbound (from Waldegrave Street to Duckworth Street)
  • Duckworth Street (New Gower Street to Ordinance Street)
  • Bannerman Road (from Military Road to the Park Entrance)

Parking

Parking is limited for the event, and alternative forms of transportation are encouraged, as is parade attendees being dropped off. Parking along the parade path is not permitted for the above noted times.

Accessibility

Accessible Parking is available at St. Thomas Anglican Church, on a first come first serve basis for persons with a provincially issued accessible permit. The accessible parking area can be accessed via Cavendish Square, from Plymouth Road, prior to 11:45 am.

The Sensory Friendly Zone is located on Duckworth Street between LSPU Hall and Prescott Street.
