Traffic Advisory: Parking and Road Access Changes – Ward 2 Voting Centres
On Election Day, Wednesday, October 8, 2025, Ward 2 residents can vote at:
- First Light Centre for Performance and Creativity – 42 Bannerman Street (no access from Cochrane Street)
- Bannerman Park Pool House – 25 Bannerman Road
The First Light Centre for Performance and Creativity includes accessibility features such as an accessible entrance, washroom, and elevator. However, nearby construction has created challenges for accessible drop-off. To ensure all voters have safe and convenient access, the City also designated the Bannerman Park Pool House as a voting centre, as it provides accessible parking and drop-off options.
Traffic and Parking Changes
To support voter access, the following traffic and parking changes will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.:
- Bannerman Road – Temporary 15-minute parking zones will be added on both sides of the road to ensure turnover for voter parking. Voters may also use the public lot at Bannerman Park.
- Bannerman Street – No-parking signs will be posted on the west side (Military Road to Bond Street) to keep driveways clear.
- Stewart Avenue – Closed to through traffic. Access limited to local residents, First Light staff, and voters using the designated accessible parking space.
Temporary Accessible Parking
Additional temporary accessible parking will be added:
- 6 spaces – Bannerman Park Pool House (front entrance)
- 2 spaces – First Light Centre for Performance and Creativity parking lot
- 1 space – Stewart Avenue
