Traffic Advisory - Portugal Cove Road, Major’s Path and Airport Heights Drive Intersection Transitioning to Roundabout
Crews will work overnight between 11 p.m. on Friday, September 11 and 7 a.m. on Saturday, September 12 to transition the intersection of Portugal Cove Road, Major’s Path and Airport Heights Drive from a signalized intersection to a roundabout. During this time, traffic can continue to flow through the intersection.
When complete, the traffic lights will be disabled and motorists must treat the intersection as a single lane roundabout. The intersection will remain an active construction zone. Lane locations and configurations may change as work progresses.
Remember:
- Slow down and stay alert: Watch for pedestrians, construction workers and other road users.
- Follow traffic controls: Obey all signs, cones, pylons, flag persons and other traffic control devices.
- Yield to traffic already in the roundabout: Enter only when it is safe to do so.
The completed roundabout will have two lanes. Construction remains on target for completion by the end of 2026.
