Traffic and Parking Impacts - Pride Parade

The 2024 Pride Parade will take place on Sunday, July 21.

The parade will begin on New Gower street, and travel East on Duckworth Street, before turning up Cavendish Square, onto Military Road, and ending in Bannerman Park. The parade will begin at noon, while closures will begin at 9:00 am and remain closed until the parade passes. Flag persons will be on site to complete the closure, and motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes.

To facilitate the safe passage of the parade and pedestrians, the following road closures and No Parking – Tow Away restrictions will be in place:

Road Closures

9:00 am to 3:00 pm

  • New Gower Street Eastbound (from Waldegrave Street to Duckworth Street)
  • New Gower Street West Bound (from Long’s Hill to Waldegrave Street)
  • Duckworth Street (Duckworth to Cavendish square)
  • Cavendish Square
  • Military Road (from Cavendish Square to Bannerman Road)
  • Bannerman Road (from Military Road to the Park Entrance)

No Parking/Designated Tow Away Zones

8:00 am to 3:00 pm

  • New Gower Street West Bound (from Long’s Hill to Waldegrave Street)
  • Duckworth Street (New Gower Street to Cavendish Square)
  • Cavendish Square
  • Bannerman Road (from Military Road to the Park Entrance)

Parking

Parking is limited for the event, and alternative forms of transportation are encouraged, as is parade attendees being dropped off. Parking along the parade path is not permitted for the above noted times.
