The City of St. John’s is pleased to share that the new H.G.R. Mews Community Centre will open to the public in September 2025.

The mechanical issues with the building cooling and heating equipment have been resolved and ownership of the building has now been transferred from the contractor to the city.

A September opening will help minimize disruption to existing recreation programs and allow time for staff to undergo training and finalize logistical preparations to ensure a smooth and successful transition to the new facility.
