Wildfire Preparedness Event at Bowring Park
Mark your calendars for the Wildfire Preparedness Event taking place this Sunday, May 25, 2025, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Bowring Park, near the pool house.
Hosted by St. John’s Regional Fire Department and the Provincial Forestry Division, this fun and educational community event is ideal for all ages.
Highlights of the Day Include:
- Meet and Greet with Fire Safety Mascots: Kids (and adults!) will be thrilled to meet Ember, Smokey the Bear, and Sparky the Fire Dog in person.
- Get Hands-On with Fire and Forestry Trucks: Explore real vehicles and learn how firefighters and forestry teams are equipped to handle wildfires.
- Engage in a Community-Wide Safety Effort: Learn how individuals, families, and organizations can work together to reduce the risk of wildfires in our city and province.
In the event of rainy weather, the festivities will move to the West Fire Station at 215 Blackmarsh Road.
