To facilitate the Uniformed Services Run and the arrival of two cruise ships, the following road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect on Sunday, September 7, 2025, impacting the Downtown Area, Quidi Vidi Lake, and the Waterford Valley.

Motorists are advised to find an alternate route, while residents may be temporarily delayed while race participants are passing.

Road Closures

Starting at 7 a.m.

• Southside Road eastbound (Old Bay Bulls Road to Blackhead Road) – 7 a.m. to 10:40 a.m.

Starting at 7:15 a.m.

• Harbour Drive eastbound – 7:15 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Water Street (Prescott Street to Cochrane Street) – 7:15 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Water Street (Cochrane Street to Temperance Street) – 7:15 a.m. to 11 a.m.
• Temperance Street – 7:15 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Quidi Vidi Road (Duckworth Street to Plymouth Road) – 7:15 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Empire Avenue (Quidi Vidi Road to Forest Road) – 7:15 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Empire Avenue westbound (Forest Road to King’s Bridge Road) – 7:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
• Lake Avenue eastbound – 7:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
• Carnell Drive northbound – 7:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.

Starting at 7:30 a.m.

• Hillview Drive West – 7:30 a.m. to 7:50 a.m.
• The Boulevard eastbound (Carnell Drive to Quidi Vidi Village Road) – 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
• Quidi Vidi Village Road westbound (The Boulevard to Forest Road) – 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
• Forest Road westbound (Quidi Vidi Village Road to Empire Avenue) – 7:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Starting at 7:45 a.m.

• Water Street westbound (Prescott Street to Waldegrave Street) – 7:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
• Waterford Bridge Road westbound (Water Street to Cowan Avenue) – 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• Park Road southbound (Waterford Bridge Road to Squires Avenue) – 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

No Parking (Tow Away) Zones

Please note that vehicles parked at the locations below from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday, September 7 will be ticketed and/or towed:

• Harbour Drive (Beck's Cove to Job's Cove)
• Water Street (Prescott Street to Temperance Street)
• Clift Baird's Cove

Cruise Ship Operations

Licensed taxis and tour operators pre-approved by the City of St. John’s will be permitted access at specific times during the race. Access will be via Harbour Drive at Waldegrave Street. Additional details will be provided to operators directly.
