The St. John’s Regional Fire Department wishes to advise all citizens of a consumer product recall from Frigidaire.

The St. John’s Regional Fire Department (SJRFD), alongside the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 1075, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Wounded Warriors Canada focused on strengthening mental health and wellness supports for firefighters and first responders.

The St. John’s Regional Fire Department is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association® (NFPA®) to promote this year’s FPW campaign, “Charge into Fire Safety^TM: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home.

The Evacuation Preparedness Alert for the Paddy’s Pond Industrial, Galway and Southlands areas has been lifted effective immediately. The alert in neighbouring communities in Paradise and CBS has also been lifted.

Please be advised that the Evacuation Order for Paddy’s Pond Industrial Area, including Akita Equipment and surrounding buildings, hangers, Cochrane Pond Family Campground, Country Ribbon Chicken Farm, Sod Farm and the Forestry Depot, has been lifted effective immediately. Northern Pond Road, the southern portion of Fowlers Road and Paddy’s Pond Road have also reopened.
