Update on Street Rehabilitation Work on Southlands BoulevardAs part of the Street Rehabilitation program, construction work for Southlands Boulevard is concluding in late fall 2022.
The construction update:
- Construction on Southlands Boulevard between the City limits and Ruby Line is currently ongoing and expected to be completed by November 4.
Cape to Cabot Race: Lane Reductions and ClosuresMotorists are advised that the following temporary road closures will be in effect for the Cape to Cabot Race, Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022:
Blackhead Road (Southside Road to Cape Spear)
Closed Both Directions
7:45 a.Lane Reductions/ Closures: Capital Subaru Uniformed Services Provincial MarathonTo facilitate the Capital Subaru Uniformed Services Provincial Marathon the following lane reductions/closures will be in effect on Sunday, September 18th.
- Southside Road Eastbound to Blackhead Road - 7 am–10:30 am
- Harbour Drive Eastbound - 7 a.
Watermain Lining Rehabilitation Churchill SquareWatermains on various streets in the Churchill Square area are scheduled for rehabilitation work in 2022 and 2023.
Work will begin in early September 2022 and finish up in November 2022 and then begin again in Spring 2023.
City Reminds Drivers to Slow Down in School ZonesAs kids return to school next week, motorists are reminded to reduce their speed to a maximum of 30 km/hr when driving through school zones in St. Johns.
