Continued Progress on the City’s Strategic Plan: Quarter 2 UpdateSince the last progress update to Council in March 2023, eight Strategic Plan Initiatives have been completed, bringing the total number of completed initiatives to 122, since the launch in 2019. In addition, there are another 27 initiatives on track to being completed in 2023.
Closure: Sports Fields August 22, 2023Please be advised that all City of St. John's outdoor sports fields are closed Tuesday, August 22 for the remainder of the day due to inclement weather and field conditions.

Emergency Management at its BestThe City’s very own David Day was recently awarded the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) Canada Merit Award.
IAEM is a not-for-profit organization committed to educating members and promoting Emergency Management Principles to professionals in the field.
Street Rehab - August 21 to 26Contractors may be working on the following streets from August 21 to 26 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation.
Road Closure - Elizabeth Ave (Newtown Road to Allandale Rd/Bonaventure Ave)Motorists are advised that a portion of Elizabeth Ave (Newtown Road to Allandale Rd/Bonaventure Ave) will be restricted to local traffic only starting Monday, August 21, 2023. A detour will be in place to direct traffic along Bonaventure Ave, Whiteway Street and Newtown Road, or Allandale Rd, Prince Philip Drive and Westerland Rd.
