Year of the Arts MuralThe City of St. John’s seeks an Artist or Artist Team to design and complete a mural celebrating the art and artists of Newfoundland and Labrador, in recognition of the provincial Year of the Arts.
Street Rehab - April 29 to May 4Contractors may be working on the following streets from April 29 to May 4 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation.
Yard Waste Collection Begins April 29Starting Monday, April 29 and running through to the end of November, yard waste will be collected at the curb on the same day as your recycling.
The yard waste collection program is suitable for:
- leaves
- grass clippings
- plants, shrubs and weeds
- twigs and small branches with a maximum diameter of 2.
Sewer Cleaning: Water Street (Queen Street to Prescott Street)The City will be completing sewer cleaning and video inspections on Water Street from Queen Street to Prescott Street between April 29 and May 10. The sewer cleaning will begin on the west end of Water Street at Queen Street, then move east to Prescott Street.
Call for ArtistsIn celebration of the provincial Year of the Arts, the City of St. John’s invites visual artists to submit digital artwork for signage that will adorn decorative light poles throughout the Downtown Pedestrian Mall on Water Street.
