City Hall Illuminations
City Hall has coloured lighting on the outside of the building that can be requested to support a special day, week, month or event. Requests must meet the standards outlined on the Proclamations and Protocol Requests page.
The City’s landmark sign outside Mary Brown’s Centre also features colour-changing LED lighting to recognize social causes and special occasions. However, the sign may be lit to align with events at Mary Brown’s Centre or the St. John’s Convention Centre, or to recognize other holidays and community initiatives. As a result, the sign may not always reflect the same cause or occasion as the lighting at City Hall.
The request must come from an official organization, not an individual. The requesting organization must be based in the St. John’s area or have a local St. John’s area chapter or contact representing the organization.
