Ring in the season with our 21st annual celebration of holiday music and lights at Bowring Park Duck Pond. Experience the bright lights, and festive music as we officially light the park for the holiday season. Feature performers include Ian Foster and Nancy Hynes, Boogie Babes and Allison Walsh and Jake Greening.
We will once again be partnering with Parks Canada to light the star on Signal Hill National Historic Site.
St. John’s Lions Club will be distributing free Hot Chocolate so don’t forget to bring a re-usable mug.
Community Food Sharing Association will also be onsite, collecting non-perishable food items for the food bank the during the event.
You are welcome to bring a flashlight or a personal light to join in the festivities!
This event includes a wheelchair accessible viewing area. Accessible parking is in the parking lot near the Duck Pond. Additional spaces are near the Bowring Park Lodge on Waterford Bridge Road.
American Sign Language (English) interpretation area will be located between the duck pond and the accessible parking area. Interpretation will be provided by the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Visual Language Interpreters.
The Duck Pond trail is approximately 500 meters of concrete sidewalk and packed gravel with uneven terrain in places. All-terrain wheelchairs may be borrowed on a first come, first serve basis and must be reserved in advance; call 709-576-6972 or email inclusion@stjohns.ca before November 25.
A limited number of noises reducing headphones will be available to borrow at the Bowring Park Lodge, near the duck pond. A photo-ID is required to borrow headphones during the event.

From December 4 to January 6, stroll through Bowring Park, view the beautiful holiday light display while listening to a playlist of local artists performing great holiday music.
Signage in the park will provide instructions for accessing the audio show using a smartphone camera and QR code, a URL address through a web browser or an FM radio station.
