To facilitate the George Street Festival, the eastbound lane of Duckworth Street (New Gower Street to Bates Hill), will be closed from 3 p.m. on July 31 to 3 a.m. on August 7.
The City of St. John’s is excited to host the 2025 Canada Games! With events unfolding city-wide and visitors arriving from across the country, it's important to stay informed on traffic impacts.
Southside Trail (from 632 Southside Road to Blackhead Road) will be closed to the public from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily Wednesday, July 30 to Friday, August 1, and again on Monday, August 4 for Newfoundland Power to complete planned maintenance on a transmission line that runs alongside the trail.
The Azamara Quest with 694 passengers is scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, and depart at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 31.
The Royal St. John’s Regatta is set to occur on Wednesday, July 30. If the weather is not suitable on July 30 and the Regatta is postponed, the following list pertains to whichever day the Royal St. John’s Regatta occurs.
Contractors may be working on multiple streets from July 21 to August 2 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs.
Motorists are advised there will be a temporary lane reduction from 7 a.m. Monday, July 28 to 6 p.m. Friday, August 1 at Brookfield Road between Pearltown Road and Lester’s Farm to facilitate work of the Brookfield Road Water Transmission Main Relocation project.
To facilitate the Regatta events there will be various road closures and No Parking/Tow Away areas implemented. These road restrictions are necessary to ensure the safety of pedestrians around the Regatta Site.
St. John’s Municipal Plan Amendment Number 15, 2025, and St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 44, 2025, adopted on April 9, 2025, and approved on June 3, 2025, have been registered by the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Community Engagement.
Elizabeth Avenue (from Allandale Road to the Strawberry Marsh Road/Long Pond Road intersection) will be closed daily from 5 to 11:30 p.m. Friday, July 25 to Tuesday, July 29 (except Monday, July 28) to facilitate the Churchill Park Music Festival.
