The following is a recap of the City of St. John's Regular Council Meeting on March 10, 2026, which provides an overview of Council decisions.
The City of St. John’s invites residents and businesses to share their thoughts on the initial recommendations for new neighbourhood plans for the Rennie’s River, Central and Mundy Pond areas.
Due to the St. Patrick’s Day holiday on Monday, March 16, City offices and facilities will be closed.
Due to forecasted high winds, curbside waste and recycling collection is cancelled for Friday, March 13. Collection will now take place on Saturday, March 14.
Council has approved over $1.8 million for Community and Capital Grants in 2026.
City Council voted to approve the capital budget for 2026, totaling $34,179,203, at the March 10, 2026, Regular Council Meeting.
Capital projects cover a wide range of services including transportation improvements, street/sidewalk repair/rehabilitation, water system projects, housing projects, capital grants to community groups, snow clearing equipment, recreational facilities and playground infrastructure.
A Discretionary Use application has been submitted at 10 Sheffield Place.
