The City of St. John’s is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Applause Awards, recognizing individuals, groups and organizations who make a meaningful difference in our community.

Due to forecasted weather, please note the following impacts on City of St. John's services and facilities for Monday, February 2. 

City crews are preparing for a winter storm expected to begin overnight Sunday, with the potential for heavy snowfall amounts and high winds.

Motorists are advised that Hebron Way, from Sea Rose Ave to Major’s Path, has reopened.

The Winter Activity Centre located at North Bank Lodge in Pippy Park will re-open today (Jan. 29, 2026) at noon. 

Proposals are being accepted for the Markets on Water on the Downtown Pedestrian Mall during the 2026 season. 

Hebron Way, from Sea Rose Ave to Major’s Path, is closed due to heavy drifting and poor visibility. 

Several online pages and tools will be temporarily unavailable on StJohns.ca.  

Please be advised that all City of St. John’s recreation facilities will close at 4:30 p.m.
