From August 10–15 and August 18–22, visitors can join the City of St. John’s Race the Regatta Challenge. The 2025 Canada Games ARTA VISTA Festival at the St. John’s Convention Centre is your daily hub for entertainment during the Games.

 The current H.G.R. Mews Community Centre will officially close to the public on Thursday, August 28. The City of St. John’s is offering several free events and activities for residents to enjoy one last time at the Mews.

The Zuiderdam cruise ship originally scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19 has been cancelled due to weather.

The Zuiderdam with 2388 passengers is scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, and depart at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20.

The Evacuation Preparedness Alert for the Paddy’s Pond Industrial, Galway and Southlands areas has been lifted effective immediately. The alert in neighbouring communities in Paradise and CBS has also been lifted.

The southern portion of Fowler’s Road is closed today as ground crews continue suppression efforts on the Paddy’s Pond fire.

The Evacuation Order for Paddy’s Pond Industrial Area, including Akita Equipment and surrounding buildings, hangers, Cochrane Pond Family Campground, Country Ribbon Chicken Farm, Sod Farm and the Forestry Depot, has been lifted effective immediately. 

On Saturday, August 16, the Downtown Pedestrian Mall will take on a whole new energy as the 2025 Canada Games criterium cycling event races through the heart of our city from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
