Looking for a fun and active way to stay moving year-round? Indoor pickleball is available at several City of St. John's community centres, with a mix of reserved court times and drop-in opportunities throughout the week.

Contractors may be working on the following streets from August 3 to 8 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs.  Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation.  Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas:

A Discretionary Use application has been submitted by Morgan Enterprises Limited for 50 Mundy Pond Road.

A change of Non-Conforming Use application has been submitted for 99 New Cove Road.

A change of Non-Conforming Use application has been submitted for 167 Bay Bulls Road.

Correction: This notice was originally posted with the incorrect title. Due to required maintenance, the large dog park on Waterford Bridge Road in Bowring Park will be closed on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

The City of St. John’s is advancing the development of the Crosstown Shared-Use Path (SUP), with construction on the section between Canada Drive and Waterford Bridge Road beginning Monday, August 3. Work is expected to continue through December 2026.

To facilitate the Rolling Barrage PTSD Foundation memorial motorcycle ride at the National War Memorial, Water Street (from Prescott Street to Cochrane Street) will be closed on Thursday, July 30 from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

To facilitate the George Street Festival, the eastbound lane of Duckworth Street, from New Gower Street to Bate’s Hill, will be closed. The road closure will end at 3 a.m. on Thursday, August 6.
