The City of St. John’s advises that lane and leisure swims scheduled for 7 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Paul Reynolds Community Centre and H.G.R. Mews Community Centre are cancelled due to expected weather conditions.
On-street overnight parking bans are in effect starting Saturday, January 3 and ending at 7:30 a.m.

The St. John’s Regional Fire Department is reminding residents of fireworks safety.
A portion of Duckworth Street will be closed from 11 p.m. December 31, 2025 to 12:30 a.m. January 1, 2026.
A number of streets will be closed from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 31 to facilitate the New Year's Eve fireworks display at 8 p.m.
Take notice that St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 67, 2025, adopted on October 21, 2025, has been registered by the Minister of Municipal and Community Affairs.
