City Council Summer Schedule
City Council meetings scheduled during July and August occur bi-weekly as part of the summer schedule. The dates for Council and Committee of the Whole Meetings are listed below.
Water Street Infrastructure Project to be Completed early JulyThe final phase of the Water Street Infrastructure project, currently underway at Prescott Street and Job’s Cove, is scheduled to be completed by the second week of July. This is slightly behind the originally estimated June 30 completion date due to unforeseen underground infrastructure challenges.
Street Rehab - June 26 to 30Contractors may be working on the following streets from June 26 to 30 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation.
Updated - Road Closure - Bay Bulls Road (Old Bay Bulls Road to Walsh's Lane)Motorists are advised that Bay Bulls Road from Civic 333 Bay Bulls Road to the Old Bay Bulls Road intersection will remain closed until Friday, June 30 at 5 p.m.
Immediate Road Closure - Waterford Bridge Road (from Water Street/Topsail Road to Road de Luxe)Motorists are advised of the immediate closure of Waterford Bridge Road from the Water Street/Topsail Road intersection to Road De Luxe. Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route.
Pedestrian-Only Zone in Quidi Vidi Village Starts on June 23The City of St. John’s is implementing a pedestrian-only zone in Quidi Vidi Village during weekends (Friday to Sunday) this summer, starting June 23 until September 4.

Pool and Splash Pad Opening Announced for 2023The splash pads at Kenmount Terrace Community Centre and Bannerman Park will open for the season on Friday, June 23.
