Street Rehab - August 21 to 26
Contractors may be working on the following streets from August 21 to 26 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation.
Road Closure - Elizabeth Ave (Newtown Road to Allandale Rd/Bonaventure Ave)Motorists are advised that a portion of Elizabeth Ave (Newtown Road to Allandale Rd/Bonaventure Ave) will be restricted to local traffic only starting Monday, August 21, 2023. A detour will be in place to direct traffic along Bonaventure Ave, Whiteway Street and Newtown Road, or Allandale Rd, Prince Philip Drive and Westerland Rd.

Mulch Grass and Leaves
There’s no need to rake grass clippings or fallen leaves, just mulch them with your mower. The grass clippings and leaves provide nutrients to the soil and help retain moisture requiring less watering and fertilizer for a healthy lawn.
Text Amendment – Daycare CentreDescription
The City is considering a text amendment to the St. John’s Development Regulations, that would amend the Daycare Centre regulations to bring them more in line with the requirements and terminology used by the Province.
