Update - Closure Springdale StreetMotorists are advised that Springdale Street, between Water Street and George Street West, will be closed from May 8 to 12 from 7:00 a.m.
Underground Construction Starts on Prescott StreetUnderground infrastructure installation will be completed at the Waldegrave and Water Street intersection in the coming days, and underground work at Prescott Street and Job’s Cove is starting on Mon. May 8.
Construction Planned for Waterford River Bridge at Blackhead RoadRepairs are planned to rehabilitate the Waterford River Bridge at Blackhead Road, with construction scheduled to begin on Mon. May 8 and be completed by the end of August.
Springdale Street ClosureMotorists are advised that Springdale Street, between Water Street and George Street West, will be closed from Mar 20 to April 28 from 7:00 a.m.
2025 Jeux du Canada Games Track, Field, Turf and Centre of Excellence FacilityToday, Mayor Danny Breen was joined by representatives from Memorial University, the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District, and the 2025 Canada Games Host Society to announce that the Design Build Contract for construction of a new track and field, artificial soccer turf, and Centre for Excellence for the 2025 Canada Summer Games, has been awarded to Lindsay Construction.
The project includes a Class II IAAF 400-metre track, an outdoor throwing area for field events, a FIFA Quality.
Public Transit Infrastructure Investments Announced for St. John’sToday, Mayor Danny Breen was joined by Joanne Thompson, Member of Parliament for St. John’s East, and the Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Environment and Climate Change to announce a joint investment of more than $27.
Water Street Construction Update April 28The final phase of the Water Street infrastructure improvement project that began on March 27 is progressing on schedule, with the underground infrastructure installation nearing completion at the Waldegrave Street intersection, and underground work scheduled to begin next week at the intersection of Prescott Street and Job’s Cove.
