To facilitate construction for the Shared-Use Path, the trail connecting Airport Heights to Penney Crescent will be closed from Portugal Cove Road to the Trans-Canada Highway starting Thursday, October 2. 

The Election has been moved from October 2 to October 8 to provide additional time to secure additional resources for in-person voting and launch an online portal for residents to check if the City received their mailed-in ballots.

There will be a temporary lane reduction for the west bound lane of Brookfield Road near Civic 217 and the Pearltown Road intersection from 7 a.m. Wednesday, October 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, October 3. 

The City of St. John’s announced its plans to safeguard voter access and uphold election integrity in response to the ongoing postal disruption.

Due to the City holiday tomorrow in observance of National Truth and Reconciliation Day, City Council Committee of the Whole will take place today, Monday, September 29, at 3 p.m.

The City is working to address the impact of the current postal strike on the upcoming municipal election. 

Contractors may be working on a number of streets from September 29 to October 4 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs.

 The City is actively developing a contingency plan to address vote-by-mail kits that may still be within the Canada Post system during the unexpected Canada Post labour disruption.
