Today, Mayor Danny Breen was joined by Joanne Thompson, Member of Parliament for St. John’s East, and the Honourable Bernard Davis, Minister of Environment and Climate Change to announce a joint investment of more than $27.
Water Street Construction Update April 28The final phase of the Water Street infrastructure improvement project that began on March 27 is progressing on schedule, with the underground infrastructure installation nearing completion at the Waldegrave Street intersection, and underground work scheduled to begin next week at the intersection of Prescott Street and Job’s Cove.

Yard Waste Collection Begins May 1Starting Mon. May 1 and running through to the end of November, yard waste will be collected at the curb on the same day as your recycling.
Public Hearing - 20 Janeway PlaceA Public Hearing will take place regarding an application to rezone land at 20 Janeway Place to allow apartment buildings. The proposed development will consist of four, two-storey apartment buildings; each apartment building will contain eight units for a total count of 32 units.
City Celebrates Youth Week May 1 to 7Downtown Street Cleaning Begins April 30The scheduled overnight street cleaning in the Downtown will take place between the hours of 10 p.m.
Repairs Planned for Historical Cantilever Bridge in Bowring ParkThis summer, repairs are planned to rehabilitate the Cantilever Bridge in Bowring Park, with construction scheduled to begin in early May and be completed by the end of July.
The construction project involves concrete rehabilitation, graffiti removal, replacing handrailing, waterproofing and paving the bridge deck.
